1. PRELIMINARY CONDITIONS
The leasing contract is signed between the Client and Rent Tech Car Rentals Albania, hereinafter referred to as “The Company”. The Client is required to present the following documents at the rental desk upon vehicle pick-up:
- Identification: Passport or ID card.
- Valid driving license.
- Eligible driving age: 21 – 75 years old.
- Minimum driving experience: 2 years.
- An International Driving Permit is mandatory for drivers from outside the European Union.
Credit Card:
- Valid Credit Card under the name of the main driver with sufficient available funds.
Accepted cards: Visa and/or Mastercard only.
Not accepted: Prepaid, recharge, or virtual credit cards, cards without embossed characters, and Visa Dankort.
Voucher: The Client must present the relevant voucher at the counter desk during the rental procedure.
2. CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE
Prior to signing the Contract, the Client must inspect the vehicle for any visible damages and confirm its sound and safe condition. Any claims regarding vehicle damage must be made within 10 minutes of leaving the pick-up location. Failure to do so will result in the Client being held responsible for any additional damage not documented in the contract.
Upon rental termination, the designated box on the contract must be signed “Returning OK”. If this is not done, The Company reserves the right to charge the Client's Credit Card for any damages incurred during the rental period. In such cases, an administration charge and an immobilization charge will be applied. These charges will be calculated based on the car group and the number of repair days.
3. RENTAL PERIOD
- The Client agrees to return the vehicle upon completion of the rental period as specified in the contract. The accepted rental period is defined strictly by the PICK UP/DROP OFF DATE AND TIME. The leasing contract operates on a 24-hour period basis.
- If Client wish to extend the rental period beyond the agreed-upon time, The Company must be notified at least 72 hours before the scheduled drop-off time.
- Delay: A delay of up to 1 hour in returning the vehicle will not incur any extra charges. Delays exceeding 1 hour will result in a charge equivalent to 100% of the following rental period, calculated against the market value for the lost profit.
- Early Return: No refunds will be provided for early returns of the vehicle.
- Changes in Location: Any changes to the pick-up or drop-off location without prior written notification to The Company may result in a penalty and additional charges.
4. PAYMENTS
The Company accepts payments in cash or by Credit Card. For Credit Card payments, The Company is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of the Credit Card information.
5. CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) / SECURITY DEPOSIT
The Client agrees to a CDW excess ranging from 600 – 1200 Euro, which covers any bodywork damages. The Client's maximum liability in case of such damage is limited to this excess amount. This CDW is valid only if the Client adheres to the Terms and Conditions of this Contract.
However, the CDW does not cover damages to the following:
- Windows
Wheels - Interior
- Undercarriage
- Toll and Police Fine charges
- Towing charges
- Extension of rental days
- Child seats, GPS and Wi-Fi devices
- Personal belongings
- Any damage caused by driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Any other damage resulting from careless driving
- Missing fuel, refueling errors
- Valeting/cleaning fee
- An additional security deposit ranging from 240 – 500 Euro will be required at the rental desk to cover the aforementioned damages or events.
In the absence of any bodywork damage, the CDW excess will be credited and returned to the Client within 21 working days. The security deposit will be released only after The Company confirms that none of the damages covered by this deposit have occurred to the vehicle.
If the Client incurs any charges such as speeding tickets or unpaid congestion/toll charges, or if The Company discovers after the termination of the Contract that the car was driven carelessly, off-road, on unpaved roads, or outside the border of Albania without The Company's authorization, The Company reserves the right to charge the Client an amount exceeding the secured deposit. This may occur months after the rental period, and the Client will be responsible for the related charges as well as The Company’s administration fees.
Due to fluctuations in foreign exchange rates and potential banking charges, The Company cannot be held responsible for any discrepancies between the amount paid and the amount refunded.
5.1 FDW (FULL DAMAGE WAIVER)
The Company offers two types of FDW insurance at an additional cost, payable locally. The specific coverage details of these insurance options will be explained to the Client at the rental desk during vehicle pick-up. If any of the FDW packages are purchased, the Client will receive the corresponding voucher.
IN ANY CASE OF ACCIDENTS/COLLISIONS OR DAMAGES, A POLICE REPORT IS MANDATORY!
6. FUEL
The Company agrees to provide the vehicle with a full tank of fuel. The Client is obligated to return the vehicle in the same condition (full tank). Any missing fuel will be charged at a rate of 2.2 Euro/Liter (VAT excluded), along with an administrative cost of 10 Euro (VAT excluded). The gas station approved by The Company is “Alpet & Tea Oil Group” shpk.
7. ADDITIONAL CHARGES AND EXCLUSIONS
The Client is responsible for all charges and fines incurred during the rental period, including but not limited to tolls, congestion charges, speeding tickets, and parking or traffic fines. An additional administrative cost of 10 Euro (VAT excluded) will be applied to such charges.
The vehicle must not be used for the following purposes:
- To push, propel, or tow another vehicle or trailer.
- For any illegal activities.
- Operated by any person not explicitly stated in this Contract.
- Driven off-road or on unpaved roads.
- All vehicles are equipped with a GPS system, and any violation of the off-road/unpaved road driving restriction will result in a charge of up to 150 Euro (VAT excluded).
- Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the vehicle, and a valeting charge of 50 Euro (VAT excluded) will be applied in case of violation.
- In the event of key loss or significant damage, the Client will be charged 350 Euro (VAT excluded).
- For loss of vehicle plates and/or documents, the Client will be obligated to pay for an additional 30 rental days.
- In case of GPS loss, the driver will be charged 200 Euro (VAT excluded).
8. CROSS BORDER
Driving the vehicle outside the territory of the Republic of Albania is permitted only with The Company's Cross Border Authorization, which requires a prior notification of 7 days before the pick-up date. The out-of-border fee is 48 Euro per full rental (VAT included). Driving outside Albania without authorization will incur a violating charge of 100 Euro (VAT excluded).
The Company offers a Border Full Casco and Road Assistance voucher, which provides 24-hour roadside assistance outside Albanian territory in case of accidents. This coverage is not included in the FDW. Therefore, if the Client has only purchased FDW and not the Border Full Casco and Road Assistance, they are responsible for bringing the car back to the Albanian border in case of issues outside the country.
9. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
The Company provides 24-hour roadside assistance services related to vehicle breakdown within the Territory of Albania. If The Company determines that the vehicle damage occurred on a non-asphalted road, it will not be considered a breakdown, and applicable charges will apply.
Except for breakdown events, any other requested road service will be charged at a rate of 0.8 Euro/km (VAT excluded), plus a 50 Euro administration fee (VAT excluded), in addition to the repair costs. In cases of severe damage requiring a towing truck, the charge will be 1.2 Euro/km (VAT excluded), plus a 50 Euro administration fee (VAT excluded).
Clients who have purchased the Happy Relax Cover Plus will receive these services free of charge.
10. OUT OF OFFICIAL WORKING HOURS
The Company's official working hours are from 08:00 – 21:00. For vehicle deliveries or collections outside these hours, an extra charge of 20 Euro (VAT excluded) will be applied.
The Company will take pictures of the vehicle and inspect its condition during official working hours. If the vehicle is not returned in the same condition as it was at the time of pick-up, The Company will charge the Client's Credit Card for the cost of the damage and an administrative fee. In such cases, The Company is obligated to provide the Cooperator or the Client with:
- Pictures of the damaged area.
- A copy of the Rental Agreement.
- A Damage Report.
- An Invoice detailing the charged value.
11. END OF THE CONTRACT
The Contract expires when the Client returns the vehicle, keys, and documents to The Company office. In the event of an accident, the contract expires when the customer submits the completed Police Report. If the vehicle is impounded by authorities due to involvement in an accident, the contract expires upon the vehicle's release. The period during which the vehicle is blocked will be considered part of the rental period and will be charged accordingly.
